Short for UK Conformity Assessed. The UKCA marking is a new compliance requirement for the markets of Great Britain (England, Scotland, Wales). The UK government has introduced this marking for post-Brexit trade. UKCA generally corresponds to the CE product marking of the EU.
For the time being, ATEX products imported to the UK can continue to be sold with the CE marking. However, product certifications and markings will soon need to include UKCA. According to the currently available information, the hard date for having the UKCA marking (below) visible on imported products is January 1st, 2022.
At Atexor, we are working closely with our certification partners to incorporate UKCA into our existing certifications in a timely manner. Our ATEX certifications are issued by Eurofins, an international notified body with several offices in UK. Like most products currently sold in the UK, all Atexor products remain compliant without any changes to the current certifications. We will be updating this knowledge base entry as more information becomes available. Please note that Atexor is evaluating UKCA requirements from an ATEX-products point of view. Our UK subsidiary Atexor Ltd. is the importer of all Atexor products to the UK.
